Rounding
The two-bladed coping head removes bark, eliminates any out-of-roundness, and rounds log to rough diameter. As the carriage moves "threads" are generated along the log. Bark and dirt are lifted as knives undercut log surface. By continually cutting into fresh material tool life is extended and maintenance costs are reduced. | |
 |
Smoothing
Logs are smoothed to finished diameter with side mounted smoothing blades. |
 |
Coping
Coping heads create concave grooves for desired shape and insulation thickness. Knives are easily changed to accommodate varying log diameters. Maintenance and replacement of processing blades and knives require no special tools or machines. |
 |
Notching
With log still loaded in the Roundtec the smoothing head cuts notches for corner joints
